Satellite Meetings

The Edge Coordinating Committee (ECC) will convene a full day meeting on the day prior to the TTF meeting, Tuesday, April 5, at the Bahia hotel. The meeting will focus on understanding suppression of Edge Localized Modes (ELMs) via 3D magnetic perturbations (often called Resonant Magnetic Perturbations, or RMP). Three sessions area planned, focusing on A) plasma response to the imposed 3D magnetic field, B) effects of the imposed field on particle, momentum and energy transport, and C) physics related to the full suppression of ELMs, including the observed window in safety factor, q. As in past ECC meetings, the focus will be on fostering communication between experimentalists and theorists, and between experts in different aspects of boundary and pedestal physics.

Significant discussion time is planned, allowing for development of plans to progress toward predictive understanding of this important issue.

Please submit abstracts to this meeting by March 4 to Phil Snyder (snyder@fusion.gat.com) and Rick Moyer (moyer@fusion.gat.com).

The Agenda is now available (click on "Agenda"). The meeting will be held in the Shell Room.
